Contemplation in the Water Lily Pond Tee

In 1893, Monet, who loved plants & gardens, purchased land with a pond and created a water lilly garden, near his house in Giverny, to spend time painting the landscapes. While his Water Lillies series has approximately 250 oil paintings, it is said that Monet kept his most favourite paintings for himself, including this one where a nonchalant white cat with ginger markings seems to be contemplating the more profound aspects of life amidst the water lilies.
