Bentonite processing burns a lot of fuel and then comes the fuel burnt in transporting this heavy mineral across countries for use as cat litter. It does not end here! The problem of disposal in landfills is massive since bentonite is NOT biodegradable. 

While bentonite litter has proved to be effective and your cat may seem extremely happy using it, it leaves your home dusty and can cause respiratory diseases.

The only solution is to switch the litter completely or reduce the proportion of bentonite in the overall composition.

While switching your cat's litter is no easy task since they prefer sticking to things they are comfortable with, you can phase it out over 2-3 weeks by gradually increasing the proportion of the tofu litter.
